Black Star recently teamed up with culture-shaping media platform REVOLT to be part of one of the biggest cultural events of the year.
REVOLT WORLD, a three-day immersive experience with shows, live performances, discussion, and more headed to Atlanta—and so did we!
What is REVOLT WORLD?
From September 20-22, Atlanta was the place to be, as hip-hop icons, political leaders, and cultural innovators joined forces to shape the future of Black culture.
Artists like Offset, Coi Leray, and Key Glock performed. Method Man talked Wu-Tang's legacy. Cam Newton discussed redefining athlete entrepreneurship. In total, more than 35,000 attendees made their way to REVOLT WORLD over the three-day event.

How was Black Star involved?
Given REVOLT WORLD is designed to gather creators, entrepreneurs, students, artists, and more to impact lives through education, entertainment, and discussion, we had to chat soccer's meteoric rise in popularity within the Black community and make our presence known.
We hosted 'The Next Wave of Soccer Culture'—a panel featuring some of the leading voices helping shape the next-gen soccer experience in our communities.
Featured panel speakers were current players, content creators, and artists, including:
Jessica Black: Soccer Host and Content Creator
Imani Dorsey: Utah Royals player, Black Women's Player Collective Board Member
Gianni Lee: Visual Artist / Musician / Designer + NYCFC Culture Consultant
Raheem Taylor-Parkes: GOAL USA Host and Content Creator
Our panel wasn't REVOLT WORLD's only soccer connection though, illustrating the bond between soccer and hip-hop grows stronger by the year. The lineup of attendees also included avid soccer fans ScHoolboy Q, Pusha-T, and Domo Wells, who serves as the Washington Spirit's Creative Director.

'The Next Wave of Soccer Culture' panel video
We're incredibly excited to be able to share our full panel discussion. A big thank you to REVOLT for having us and Jessica, Imani, Gianni, and Raheem for being incredible panelists who are spreading the gospel of soccer in Black communities through their own unique ways.
In addition to the full video you'll also see several of our favorite quotes below.
I'm the perfect example of where Black culture in soccer is going... I made friends who played soccer and told me the importance of it. They said 'There have been people who look like you who have been playing for years' and I didn't know that...I'm now able to see the impact of it, especially within the past 2 to 3 years and how engrained in culture it's getting.
—Gianni Lee
There are so many opportunities to find a team, to find players that you want to follow. Follow their journey, support them, interact, engage, and continue to spread the word. Because I feel like, especially in the Black community, we learn about things from the people we trust. If we're able to talk about soccer with each other, then the sport will only grow exponentially.
—Imani Dorsey
There's just not many Black soccer content creators... We need more Black women and Black men to take their phone out and go to a soccer game, do a 'Get ready with me' with a soccer outfit. We need more Black creators in this soccer space and there are so many opportunities to work with brands heading into the [2026] World Cup... If you're trying to get into the soccer space, do it today.
—Raheem Taylor-Parkes
The easiest way to start [in soccer content creation] is to just start with whatever you have available to you... One of the most important parts that needs to be highlighted is DM'ing people [for creator opportunities]. Because people are looking at their DMs—you're solving a problem for them. Any jobs that I've gotten came from me DM'ing people.
—Jessica Black
