Black Star returns to Detroit for clinic, ID showcase, and pickup

Updated: Jul 31

After our event with U.S. Men's National Team player Tyler Adams in June, we returned to The Motor City on July 27-28 for a series of events with our partner, Detroit City FC.

More than 200 players from Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio joined us for a First Touch Youth Clinic, Allstate Next Wave Showcase, and Community Pickup. Said Black Star Director, Patrick Rose:

It was a pleasure being back in Detroit for the fourth straight year. Detroit Black soccer culture is growing and we're honored to play a part in that along with our partners from Detroit City FC and the wider Detroit soccer community.

Black Star also served as the honorary captain for Detroit City FC's July 27 USL Championship game against Sacramento Republic.

Shout out to our partners Allstate, adidas, and King's Hawaiian—who was on site activating on site and handing out their delicious product!

Leading up to the event, Detroit City FC asked several of their Black players what Black Star means to them. Check out their answers below!

We had an incredible time with players, their parents, and everyone who came out for this great event. A big thanks to everyone who came out!
